Last minute shoppers stop procrastinating

Today at Destiny USA, many people came to buy their last minute gifts.

It's Christmas Eve in Syracuse and there were a lot of last minute shoppers to be found at Destiny USA. Although the weeks leading up to Christmas also present themselves with deals and bargains, that doesn't stop some people from waiting until the last day.

One shopper, Ryan Slocum, brought his friend along for the fun and on into Syracuse Gift Company.

Slocum said, "Work kept me away from the stores and I'm just trying to get gift ideas. I'm not very creative so trying to get gift ideas, I'm just awful."

He was looking for a present to give to his girlfriend, Heather. She likes horses and he was looking for something to please her with. He ended up getting a glass horse decoration to hang in a window. Not only will she be surprised when she opens this, but Ryan was surprised as well at how easy shopping was once he just did it.

Fred Hutchinson came all the way from Washington to be home for Christmas. He hardly had any time to look for presents between flying in and having to go to his home, for the holidays.

"I had fourteen hours worth of travel, so it's been a long time." Hutchinson said, "I'm coming to get the presents for tomorrow then I'm flying back."

The mall itself is having a banner year, General Manager Rob Schoenceck says, "Christmas 2012, we have 50 new stores that weren't open last year, with the addition coming on, so it's been a great year for us."

The movie theater, as well as several restaurants will all be open tomorrow for Christmas Day.
