A lawn party celebrated a milestone in the restoration of the Babcock Shattuck House Sunday afternoon.
Often referred to as the "Gateway to the Westcott Neighborhood," the 1895 Queen Anne-style house is being converted into four residential condominium units.
Sunday's lawn party was hosted by the University Neighborhood Preservation Association (UNPA) and showcased the $338,000 restoration of the exterior of the house. That's just the first step in the $1.3 million plan to renovate the long-vacant mansion, according to David Michael of the UNPA.
Sunday's lawn party also kicked off marketing for the four condominium units, giving guests a chance to look at the floor plans for each one.
The renovation of the interior of the house is scheduled to begin soon.
