It's a sad day for the Syracuse University sports community and beyond.
Dan Johnson, one of the most well known SU sports fans in our area - if not the world - died Friday night.
He underwent two major surgeries in March - to remove his colon and repair two hernias.
Throughout his stay, he had several memorable visits from members of the SU coaching staff and standout athletes.
In April, our cameras were rolling when SU Quarterback Terrell Hunt and SU Football Coach Scott Schafer stopped by.
Last month, Johnson had another procedure. Friends told Syracuse.com he did not regain consciousness.
Johnson was 68 years old.
