Lewis County man arrested for covering two state DOT tractors with cow manure

A 67-year-old Lewis County man is charged after sheriffâ??s deputies say he left an unwelcome surprise on two State DOT tractors parked on the side of the road.

Deputies arrested Charles Humphrey, of Constableville, after they say he spread an entire load of cow manure on two State DOT tractors parked at the intersection of Adam Road and Route 26. The tractors were mowing the shoulders of Route 26, and were parked in the state right-of-way for the weekend, deputies say.

Humphrey is charged with trespass and disorderly conduct, and will answer the charges at a later date.
