Lewis County woman charged after crash investigators found marijuana in car with 3-year-old

A Lewis County woman crashed into a county work vehicle while driving on Osceola Road in the Town of Osceola on Monday morning, and responding deputies found something else in her car, besides her three-year-old son.

30-year-old Nicole S. Gokey lost control of her vehicle on a sharp curve in the roadway and hit a Town of Osceola tractor that was mowing on the side of the road.

Deputies say speed and glare from the sun were factors in the crash.

The county employee was not hurt in the crash, but Gokey had a cut on her foot. Gokeyâ??s three-year-old son was not hurt. During the investigation, deputies found marijuana and a smoking device in the car.

Gokey was ticketed for unlawful possession of marijuana and unreasonable speed. She is due back in court at a later date.
