Mon, 13 May 2013 15:08:38 GMT — A Liverpool woman has been ticketed following a fatal accident in the Town of Hastings earlier this month.Police say Betsy A. Maslen, 65, was reportedly made a left turn onto the I-81 on-ramp from State Route 49 crossing the path of a Yamaha motorcycle operated by 65-year-old Robert E. Gale, of Central Square. Police say Gale reportedly attempted to lay the motorcycle down on its left side to avoid the collision, then skidded across the pavement striking the Maslenâ??s car and was ejected from the motorcycle. Gale was taken to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse where he was pronounced dead. Police say further investigation led to a ticket being issued to Maslen. She was ticketed for failing to yield right of way left turn. According to an obituary, Gale graduated from ESM High School, was Air Force Veteran, and retired from New Process Gear in Syracuse. Calling hours for Gale are planned for Tuesday.
