A local car dealer is facing additional charges after being accused of defrauding his customers.
State Police in Elbridge say they have charged Pat J. Bombard, owner of Bombard Chevrolet on Route 20 (East Genesee Street) in Skaneateles, with felony third degree grand larceny and first degree falsifying business records after a customer accused him of failing to pay off a $17,000 loan on a trade-in vehicle. Police say that the customer purchased a new vehicle from the dealership in June of 2009, but Bombard allegedly only made sporadic payments on the balance of the trade-in, keeping the loan open.
This is the second set of charges against Bombard for similar allegations. He was previously arrested in March for the same grand larceny and falsifying business records offenses after a complaint was registered by a different customer. Bombard was arraigned in the Town of Skanealeles Court.
Investigators ask that if anyone has had a similar experience at Bombard Chevrolet, they can contact the State Police barracks in Elbridge at (315) 689-7908.
