Long-time Lenox Supervisor DiVeronica defeated by 14 votes

A major Republican primary upset in Madison County. Long-time Lenox Town Supervisor Rocco DiVeronica lost by just 14 votes to challenger Joseph Pinard. The final vote total was Pinard - 297, DiVeronica - 283.

DiVeronica has served as Lenox supervisor since 1998. He was also chairman of the Madison County Board of Supervisors from 2000 - 2008, according to the town of Lenox website. The site says DiVeronica also served as President of the New York State Association of Counties from 2005 - 2007.
