Machete attack at New Hartford drinking party

      Jeffrey Kolek

A 21-year-old man suffered cuts to his back after he was attacked with a machete knife, New Hartford Police say. Investigators were called to what they describe as an "underage drinking party" on Snowden Hill Road on Saturday August 16 at about 12:45 a.m.

Arriving officers say they saw several people leaving the home, and were told there had been a fight. Investigators say Jeffrey L. Kolek, 19, who lives at the Snowden Hill address, was involved in a fight with Andrew Lambert, 21, of Utica. Police say Lambert was struck several times in the back with a machete knife. He suffered cuts.

Jeffery Kolek was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and harassment.
