Man arrest in drug raid of Cortland County meth lab

A Cortland County man was arrested after a drug raid while a Cortland man was making meth in an lab in the Town of Scott.

The Cortland County Drug Task Force raided the location off of Hewitt Road in the City of Cortland. They arrested 31-year old Joshua W. Pittsley, of 136 Groton Avenue, for making and manufacturing methamphetamine on Saturday.

Pittsley was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful manufacturing of methamphetamine, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine laboratory material, and criminally using drug paraphernalia.

Deputies say he had about 10 ounces of meth, which is over the 2 ounce limit for the criminal possession of a controlled substance charge.

The New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Response Team came in to help because of the contamination from the process of making meth.

Pittsley was arraigned in the Town of Preble Courtis being held in the Cortland County Jail on$50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.

The Drug Taskforce is still investigating.
