An Onondaga County jury has found a Syracuse man guilty in connection with the disappearance of his live-in girlfriend. James Guilford, of 206 East Genesee Park Drive, was convicted of murder in the death of Sharon Nugent. She was reported missing on February 6th.
Guilford was arrested by Syracuse Police in March. Investigators say they took Guilford into custody after he made incriminating statements. They also found blood-related evidence in both the apartment the couple shared and the Georgia home where Guilford went with their three children after Nugent disappeared.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 27. Guilford faces the possibility of 25 years to life in state prison.
