Authorities say a 57-year-old man who died in a crash over the weekend was rushing his wife to a northern New York hospital after she had a medical emergency.
Deputies say 57-year-old Sam Demo, of Malone, was driving his wife, 54-year-old Kathy Demo, to the emergency room down Effley Falls Road in the Town of Croghan when he lost control of his vehicle.
Police say he went off the shoulder of the road and rolled three times before stopping in a small brushy area.
Deputies say Demo was thrown from the vehicle after it overturned several times before coming to a rest in a stand of trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His wife, Kathi Demo, was taken to the hospital in Lowville for treatment of minor injuries.
