Man facing attempted assault of a police officer charges after pursuit in Oswego County
TOWN OF PALERMO, N.Y. —
A Phoenix man faces numerous charges after a pursuit in Oswego County, according to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say 58-year-old Scott A. Mills faces three counts of Attempted Assault on a Police Officer with a Deadly Weapon, Fleeing an Officer in a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Reckless Driver and several other charges following an incident that began on County Route 4 near City Line Road in the Town of Scriba.
There deputies say they tried to stop Mills at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday after he was seen driving a 2015 GMC pickup over the speed limit on Churchill Road. This sparked a pursuit that started in Scriba, ventured into the City of Oswego, continued back into the Town of Scriba and through the Town of Volney before finally ending in the Town of Palermo. Along the way, Mills allegedly tried to hit three separate patrol vehicles before pulling the truck into a hay field, the sheriff's office siad.
Mills was arraigned in the Town of Palermo Court and sent to the Oswego County Jail on $10,000 cash, $20,000 bond, deputies said. He's due back in court on November 27.
