Man Injured in Syracuse Stabbing

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- A 30 year old man is recovering from a stab wound to the back.

It happened early Friday morning, around 1:20 am. Syracuse Police Officers responded to the 100 block of W. Lynhurst Ave. in regards to a stabbing call. When they arrived, Officers located the man, who was suffering from a stab wound to his back. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital for treatment. Police say his injury does not appear to be life threatening.

The investigation found the victim was involved in a physical dispute with a female while inside a residence. During, the dispute, the female stabbed the male in the back with a folding knife. 27 years old, Shunette S. Gordon, was arrested at the scene without incident. Gordon was charged with Assault in the 2nd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th degree. Gordon is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
