Man stabbed in face and neck on West Onondaga Street

Syracuse Police are investigating a stabbing that happened at 2:45 Saturday afternoon at 610 West Onondaga Street, near the Rite Aid.

Police say a 45-year-old man was cut in the face and stabbed in the shoulder.

Police say the victim was in a fight with 39-year-old Jonathan Sanchez, of Syracuse, when Sanchez pulled out a knife. The victim was taken to Upstate University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Sanchez was located at a residence on Sabine Street shortly after the incident.

He is being charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. He will be arraigned in Syracuse City Court on Sunday morning.
