A Manlius musician studying to become a teacher is sentenced to 2 years in state prison and 10 years post-release supervision for sex crimes with two 15-year-old girls from 2011 and 2012.
An Onondaga County jury found 24-year-old Arthur Lewis guilty of rape in the third degree, forcible touching and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Lewis was sentenced by Onondaga County Judge Joseph Fahey, and asked for mercy prior to sentencing.
Lewis met his first victim while at Eagle Middle School in 2010. That victim testified that she had a sexual relationship with Lewis when she was 15 and 16 years old while Lewis was 21 at the time. The age for consent in New York is 17.
Lewis was found guilty of third degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child for the relationship he had with the girl.
Lewis met the second girl in the summer of 2011 when he was 21-years-old and the girl was 15. He met her at a community event during the summer, and he was found guilty for forcibly touching and endangering the welfare of a child.
