A Mattydale man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after driving down I-81 with two wheels missing from his vehicle.

Oswego County Deputies say Jeremy W. Irwin, 41, was reportedly seen driving at a slow speed on southbound I-81 near the Central Square exit on Monday morning around 1:40 a.m. A reckless driver complaint was made to police.

Irwinâ??s vehicle reportedly was missing two tires and was riding on the rims only, which were emitting heavy smoke and sparks.

Deputies say Irwin continued to drive about a half mile while being followed by a patrol unit with emergency lights activated. He then pulled to the shoulder after crossing from the passing lane into the driving lane without signaling.

Irwin is charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, uninspected motor vehicle, unsafe tires, inadequate headlights, drove across hazardous road markings, and moved from lane unsafely.

He was arraigned before Town of West Monroe Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear before Town of Hastings Court on Wednesday.
