A 25-year-old McGraw man was arrested for breaking in to a Cortlandville home.
According to the Cortland County Sheriff's Department, when the resident of a home on Clinton Street Ext. in Cortlandville arrived home Thursday night, they found a suspicious vehicle in their driveway and noticed that someone had broken into the home by climbing through a window.
Investigators say when the resident tried to find the suspect, the suspect climbed back out the window, got in the car and drove off. Shortly after that, police found the vehicle and arrested the suspect.
Ryan Russell of McGraw is now charged with burglary and criminal mischief. He was taken to Cortlandville Court and arraigned. Russell was remanded on $3,500 cash, $7,000 bond. He's due back in Cortlandville Court on October 21.
Deputies say the home owner is completing an inventory of the residence to determine if anything is missing.
