Wednesday morning, Onondaga County Judge Anthony Aloi released some of a Grand Jury's recommendations in the aftermath of the Onondaga Lake Parkway crash.

That Grand Jury indicted Megabus driver John Tomaszewski on a charge of criminally negligent homicide Wednesday, after the double-decker Megabus he was driving hit the low railroad bridge on the Parkway.

Some of the ideas have already been put in motion. There are better signs in place for the Regional Transportation Center and new pavement markings on the highway.

Also, the State Department of Transportation is in the process of installing a new laser warning device on the road.

The Grand Jury also covered some more controversial topics as well, including a ban of commercial traffic on the Parkway. Many neighbors in the Town of Salina and the Village of Liverpool are worried about extra traffic on their roads if a commercial vehicle ban was put in place.

The Grand Jury also recommended lowering the speed limit by ten miles per hour on the parkway and building a pull-off lane, giving truck drivers one last chance to get off the road.
