Metro Fitness kicks of first Wellness Wednesday of the season
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Metro Fitness, a locally owned and operated personal training studio and gym, is excited to be returning to the Clinton Square venue for Wellness Wednesday!
Along with other sponsors like the American Heart Association and City of Syracuse Dept. of Parks, Recreation & Youth Programs, Metro Fitness brings three group fitness classes outside for the summer offering them to the public for free. The event series launches Wednesday, June 13th and will conclude on Wednesday, July 25th.
Every Wednesday, Metro group fitness instructors will offer the community of Syracuse a Sunrise Yoga class from 6:30am to 7:30am. Participants are encouraged to bring a yoga mat, but Metro Fitness will also provide some as well. From 12:15pm to 12:45pm, Yoga Flow will be a second, express yoga class focusing on flowing from pose-to-pose. From 5:30pm to 6:15pm, Urban Boot Camp takes the stage incorporating both endurance and functional strength training.
Metro Fitness owner Randy Sabourin explains, “While visiting my home state of Vermont several years ago, I watched a huge gathering of exercise enthusiasts on Church St. in Burlington. Inspired by this group, I thought ‘Why not in Syracuse?’ When I came back, I called our Parks and Recreation Department, and they were 100% on board with the idea. It’s a great way for my business, Metro Fitness, to give back to our community and Syracuse has embraced it!”
All are welcome to attend these classes no matter your age or skill level.
Please note, there will be no classes held on Wednesday July 4th for the holiday.
