Tompkins County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the death of a Moravia woman.
The body of 31-year-old Crystal Grobelny was found around 7 a.m. Sunday on West Dryden Road near the intersection of Caswell Road. She was found unresponsive lying on the shoulder of the road.
Her body was taken to Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton for an autopsy.
Tompkins County Sheriff's deputies, State Police and the Tompkins County District Attorney's Office are still investigating. They have not released the cause of death.
CNYcentral spoke to Phillip Bevier, Grobelny's father, on the phone Monday night. He says it's been a very confusing time for the family as they learn of Grobelny's death. Bevier says the family has not been told whether anyone will be charged with a crime.
The family says the funeral director told them Grobelny died as a result of being hit by a car at high rate of speed.
"She was a very loving person, she'd help anybody out," Bevier said about his daughter. "She was quite a social person, sees the good in people and not the bad."
