More acts announced for Fair's Chevy Court

The New York State Fair announced this morning the addition of ten more acts for the Chevy Court stage for this year's fair. They include country, pop and rock acts, along with appearances by some celebrity chefs. Here is the announcement from the State Fair:

The New York State Fair announced several more of the acts that will perform during this year's Chevy Court concert series that includes pop, rock and country artists as well as celebrity chefs. Two different acts will perform each day at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. All shows at Chevy Court are free with Fair admission.

The line-up includes country superstars Ronnie Dunn, Trace Adkins and Jake Owen, TV personality and Cake Boss Buddy Valastro and American rock band Hinder.

"The Chevy Court concert series is continuing to prove that the New York State Fair is home of the best free music venue in the country," said Dan O'Hara, New York State Fair director.

Country Acts

Ronnie Dunn , formerly of the country hit duo Brooks and Dunn, will perform on Tuesday, August 30 at 8 pm. His recently released self-titled, solo album continued to prove that he is a dynamo in country music as it debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums as well as number 5 on the Billboard 200 charts. Among the hit singles on that album are "Bleed Red" and "Cost of Livin".

Trace Adkins , who has six platinum albums and two gold albums, will perform at 8 pm on Saturday, Aug. 27. In addition, Adkins has charted more than twenty songs including "Just Fishin" off his latest album Proud to Be Here released in 2011. A multifaceted artist, Adkins has also made several appearances on television, including as a panelist on the game shows Hollywood Squares and Pyramid and as a finalist on The Celebrity Apprentice . He has also written an autobiography. His hit songs include "Ladies Love Country Boys", "You're Going to Miss This" and "Brown Chicken Brown Cow".

Jake Owen , a country singing sensation whose two albums have both charted in the top ten, will perform at 8 pm on Monday, Sept. 5. Among his many top 20 songs are "Don't Think I Can't Love You", "Eight Second Ride" and "Barefoot Blue Jean Night".

Larry Gatlin & the Gatlin Brothers , an award winning country singing family, will perform on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 8 pm. Their hit songs include "" Broken Lady ", " All the Gold in California ", " Houston (Means I'm One Day Closer to You) ", "She Used to Be Somebody's Baby", and "Talkin' to the Moon".

Pop & Rock Acts

Hinder , an American rock band with numerous chart topping singles, will perform on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 8 pm. Their latest album All American Nightmare has produced top 25 songs including "All American Nightmare" and "What Ya Gonna Do". They have also toured extensively with, among others, Nickelback, Papa Roach and Rev Theory.

Hot Chelle Rae , an American pop band known for their monster sing-along choruses, crunching rock guitar, and a propulsive rhythm section, will perform on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 2 pm. Their latest single "Tonight, Tonight" released in 2011 has reached No. 12 on the US Pop Charts.

KC and the Sunshine Band , known for their diverse style which includes funk, disco and R&B, will perform on Sunday, Aug. 28 at 8 pm. Their most well known songs include the disco hits " That's the Way (I Like It) ", " (Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty ", " I'm Your Boogie Man ", " Keep It Comin' Love ", " Get Down Tonight ", " Give It Up ", and " Please Don't Go ".

The Pointer Sisters , an American Pop/R&B group who has had numerous hit songs over their three decades of recording, will perform on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 2 pm. Their hits include "I'm So Excited", "Fire", "Automatic" and "Neutron Dance".

Celebrity Chefs

Buddy Valastro , otherwise known as the Cake Boss, will demonstrate his cake making abilities on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 2 pm. Along with his mother, four sisters, and three brothers-in-law, Buddy stars in the hit reality show on TLC Cake Boss which chronicles the family as they run Carlo's Bakery.

Pat and Gina Neely , Food Network stars and restaurateurs, will appear at 2 pm on Sunday, Sept. 4 to demonstrate their barbequing skills and emcee the Best Burger Contest hosted by the New York Beef Industry Council. The husband and wife team co-host two popular cooking programs on the Food Network, named Down Home with the Neelys and Road Tasted with the Neelys . They are also are co-owners of Neeley's Bar-B-Que an immensely popular restaurant chain in Tennessee.

The announced performers are part of a revamped Chevy Court format introduced in 2009 that will bring 24 national acts to the Chevy Court stage instead of the traditional 12. These changes have set records for attendance at Chevy Court concerts and enhanced the overall entertainment options for Fairgoers. Last year's Chevy Court performance by Lady Antebellum was attended by an estimated 30,000 people.

Acts that were previously announced for Chevy Court include rock band Three Dog Night at 8 pm on Aug. 26, celebrity chef Curtis Stone at 2 pm on Aug. 27; rock and pop band Allstar Weekend performing at 2 p.m. Aug. 28; jazz and swing band the Glenn Miller Orchestra performing at 2 p.m. Aug. 29; American rock band REO Speedwagon performing at 8 p.m. Aug. 29; "Jersey Boys" quartet The Midtown Men performing at 2 p.m. on Aug. 30; pop star Bruno Mars at 8 pm on Aug. 31; country music duo Steel Magnolia at 2 pm on Sept. 1; Nickelodeon pop quartet Big Time Rush performing at 8 p.m. Sept. 1; R&B singer Charlie Wilson performing at 8 p.m. on Sept. 2; and Irish pop rockers The Script performing at 8 p.m. on Sept. 3.

All shows at Chevy Court are free with Fair admission. The 2011 Fair will run from Aug. 25 to Sept. 5.
