More charges for North Carolina man accused of sexually abusing young children in Scriba

The charges keep piling up for a North Carolina man accused of several acts of sodomy and sexual abuse against children in Scriba.

49-year-old William Bates-Congdon, who is already being held at the Oswego County Correctional Facility on charges related to the sexual abuse of a young boy between 2001 and 2003, has had more charges brought against him as the investigation continues, deputies say.

Bates-Congdon has been charged with two counts of sodomy and course of sexual abuse against a child stemming from an investigation into incidents in a Scriba home from the spring of 1997 until March 24, 2000. Bates-Congdon is accused of having oral sexual contact with a child under the age of 11 several times over that time period.

Additionally, Bates-Congdon is facing two counts of sexual abuse for having sexual contact with a child less than 11-years-old in the summer of 2005 in Scriba.

Bates-Congdon remains in the Oswego County Jail, now in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
