More evidence of EEE in Onondaga County, as the health department reports five new positive tests in mosquito pools in and around the Cicero Swamp.
Two of the positive tests came from the Route 298 site, two from the Taft Road site and one from the Island Road site. All have previously tested positive for the potentially dangerous disease.
There is no plan to spray at this time, but Onondaga County Interim Health Commissioner Michelle Mignano reminds neighbors to be careful. â??Although mosquito counts are relatively low, it is important that the public continue to practice personal protective measures to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes and to keep your yard free from standing water to reduce the mosquito population near your home until we have a hard frost,â?? she says.
