Child endangerment charges have been filed against the mother of a 3-year-old upstate New York boy and a man accused of taking him to suburban Rochester without her permission.
Elmira police say 33-year-old Stephanie Davila of Elmira and 26-year-old Quentin Singletary of Rochester were each charged Wednesday with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child.
Davila told police she let Singletary take Jacob Ryan Rubin Davila and her car Tuesday evening to run errands in Elmira. When they didn't return, she called police, who issued an Amber Alert.
The alert resulted in a tip that led authorities to a motel in Henrietta where police found Jacob safe and arrested Singletary.
Davila and Singletary were issued tickets and released. It couldn't be determined if they had lawyers.
