Motorcyclist arrested after failing to stop for police

According to the Oneida County Sheriffâ??s Office, at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, a deputy attempted to pull over a man driving a motorcycle on State Route 5 in the Town of Westmoreland for a traffic violation.

When the deputy initiated the traffic stop, police say Kendrick Pollard, 24, turned around and hit the front of the deputyâ??s car, then drove away.

Police say when Pollard reached the intersection of Middle Settlement Road, he collided with the patrol car. Pollard tried to run after the crash but was taken into custody.

Pollard was arrested with multiple charges including unlawful fleeing of a police officer and possession of marijuana. He also had an active arrest warrant out of Oswego County for other traffic offenses.

Pollard was arraigned in the Town of New Hartford Court and remanded to the Oneida County Jail.
