Motorcyclist killed in crash in Moravia

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Moravia.

It happened just before 11:30 a.m. on Rockefeller Road about a mile north of the Village of Moravia.

Investigators say the a 1996 Chevrolet Suburban, operated by 34-year-old Kathleen M. Wood of Moravia, was making a left turn into a driveway when she was hit from behind by a 2002 Honda motorcycle, operated by 19-year-old Benjamin L. Cornwell of Moravia.

Deputies say the Cornwell was trying to pass the suburban as it made its turn. Cornwell was pronounced dead at the scene. Wood was not injured.

The investigation is continuing. Police say they do not anticipate any charges.
