W ith seven different titles hitting theaters today, many people in central New York spent some time on Christmas at the movies.
In the most profitable box office week of the year, Hollywood presented a star-studded line up for movie-goers on Christmas.
Martin Scorseseâ??s The Wolf of Wall Street featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, director/star Ben Stillerâ??s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Justin Bieberâ??s Believe drew veterans of the Christmas day movie experience and first-timers alike.
â??Itâ??s Scorsese. Whenever he comes out with a new movie I see it on the first day,â?? said Kevin Losani, who joined friends at the Regal Cinema at Destiny USA to see The Wolf of Wall Street. â??Itâ??s also a tradition for me to come out on Christmas.â??
With most businesses closed on Christmas, cinaphiles enjoyed the chance to get out of the house to catch a movie with friends and family.
â??It was a really mellow way to spend Christmas,â?? said Johanna Ramer, after seeing The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with her parents. â??We usually travel somewhere for Christmas, but this year my brother is away and we just thought this would be a fun thing to do today.â??
â??We were up bright and early to open presents and celebrate,â?? said Losani. â??This is just something we also love to do.â??
