Multiple agencies on scene of house fire in Solvay

Crews have put out fire in Solvay

Multiple agencies responded to a fire at a multifamily home on the 400 block of First Street in Solvay.

Onondaga County 911 reports that Solvay Fire and Police, Geddes Fire, State Police, Onondaga County Sheriffs and Rural Metro have all responded to the fire.

The first calls came in just before 5 p.m.

Crews arrived to find the second floor of the building engulfed in flames. The fire is out and there is fire damage to the second floor and smoke and water damage on the first floor.

Two families were living in the two family apartment building. No one was home at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

The Red Cross is assisting three neighbors from one of the apartments, providing them food, clothing and shelter. The family lost everything in the fire.
