      A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect for Onondaga, Oneida, Madison and Otsego counties.

      This Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect until 1am Monday.

      A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.

      A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Jefferson, Lewis, Herkimer and St. Lawrence counties.

      This Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 1am Monday.

      A Winter Weather Advisory is normally issued for a variety of winter weather conditions such as light snow, blowing snow, sleet, freezing rain and wind chills. While the weather will be significant, the word advisory implies that severe winter weather is not anticipated.

      A Lake Effect Snow Warning is in effect for Oswego, Jefferson, northern Herkimer and Lewis counties Monday through Wednesday.

      A lake effect snow warning means that significant snow is likely in localized areas within the warned area. A large difference in snowfall is likely even within the warned area.

      A High Wind Warning is in effect for Oswego, Jefferson, northern Cayuga, Wayne, Ontario and Lewis counties 12am until 1pm Monday.

      A high wind warning means sustained winds of 40mph are expected for at least an hour, with gusts of 58mph or greater at any time. Damage to trees, power lines and property are possible with wind of this magnitude. If you have a high profile vehicle be extra careful until the wind subsides.

      A Wind Advisory is in effect for Onondaga, Oneida, Yates, Seneca, Madison and southern Cayuga from 6am until 1pm Monday.

      A high wind warning means sustained winds of 30mph are expected and/or wind gusts of 40mph or greater. Damage to trees, power lines and property are possible with wind of this magnitude. If you have a high profile vehicle be extra careful until the wind subsides.

      A Wind Chill Warning is in effect for Oswego, Northern Cayuga, Wayne, and Ontario counties Monday evening through Tuesday evening.

      A wind chill warning is issued when strong winds will combine with cold temperatures to create dangerously cold conditions for exposed skin. The wind will make it feel like it is 25 degrees below zero or colder for a period of several hours. If you will be outdoors, use common sense and dress warmly. Make sure that all exposed skin is covered. If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the cold to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.

      A Wind Chill Watch is in effect for Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, Herkimer, Otsego, Madison, Chenango, Cortland, Onondaga, southern Cayuga, and Tompkins counties Monday afternoon through Wednesday morning.

      A wind chill watch is issued when strong winds will combine with cold temperatures to create dangerously cold conditions for exposed skin. The wind will make it feel like it is 15 degrees below zero or colder for a period of several hours. If you will be outdoors, use common sense and dress warmly. Make sure that all exposed skin is covered. If possible, avoid prolonged exposure to the cold to prevent frostbite and hypothermia.
