A fast moving drug investigation led to the arrest of one man and the seizure of $8,000 worth of heroin, Syracuse police say. Tips from neighbors about drug dealing on Tuesday led investigators to the 300 block of Richmond Avenue. Detectives say they saw what appeared to be illicit drug sales occurring outside of 327 Richmond Avenue and they detained several people who were standing outside the home.
The investigation led to the seizure of more than $8000.00 worth of heroin, and the arrest of Luis Carrasquillo, 23 of 323 Richmond Avenue. Carrasquillo's arrest was announced Wednesday evening. He was charged with the felonies of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (2 counts), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree (4 counts), and the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (4 counts), and resisting arrest.
Carrasquillo is being held on $25,000.00 cash bail. Police say the other persons who were detained were released without being charged.
