The gunman that opened fire inside a New Jersey shopping mall has been found dead according to police.
According to media reports, the gunman was found dead from a self-inflicted gun wound inside the Garden State Plaza Mall.
Reports are identifying the gunman as 20-year-old Richard Shoop.
Authorities say his body was found in a back area of the mall just after 3:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Police discovered his body hours after they say the gunman he entered the northern New Jersey mall Monday night and fired his weapon at least six times.
Hundreds of officers, including SWAT teams responded to the scene.
The mall was locked down for hours overnight as officials searched the mall room by room for the gunman.
Police say Shoop had a suicide note.
No other injuries have been reported.
