New Syracuse Diocese priest celebrates first Mass
A milestone on Sunday, for the Syracuse area's newest Catholic priest. Rev. Christopher Seibt celebrated his first mass, as a priest, at St. Daniel's in Lyncourt, where he has been serving as deacon.
Father Seibt was ordained on Saturday at Syracuse's Cathedral, with many from St. Daniel's in attendance: buses from the parish brought everyone who wanted to see and be part of the ceremony.
The new priest is a graduate of St. Daniel's school and Bishop Grimes, and attended LeMoyne College before beginning studies for the priesthood at Catholic University in Washington, DC. Though he's been attached to the parish at St. Daniel's as a deacon, Syracuse Bishop Robert Cunningham will make his permanent 'first' assignment.
