New York planning to loosen marijuana laws

State Officials say Governor Cuomo is planning to announce this week an executive action that will allow for limited use of marijuana for individuals with serious illnesses. This is according to an article published Saturday in The New York Times.

The governor's plan will allow 20 hospitals in New York to prescribe marijuana to patients with cancer, glaucoma or other disesases that meet standards that will be set by New York State Department of Health.

The state hopes to have infrastructure in place this year to allow for dispensing of medical marijuana.
