New York State Police launch Twitter and Facebook accounts

New York State Police lauched a Facebook and Twitter account to better communicate with the public.

"Facebook and Twitter give us a chance to directly communicate and interact with the people we serve across New York State," Superintendent Joseph Dâ??Amico said in a media release. "Not only will we be able to get important public safety information out quickly, but New Yorkers will also get to know more about the work our Troopers do in their communities."

On the official New York State Police accounts, the public will have immediate access to important public safety information in regards to arrests, closures, traffic safety tips and how to help in investigations.
