Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Cowabunga! Turtles are not scarce in the Adirondacks, but you don't normally see them on the ski slopes, unless they're trained ninjas.

The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports that a film crew working on a revival of the popular 80's cartoon "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" will be filming scenes of their upcoming live-action movie at the closed Big Tupper Ski Area in Tupper Lake.

Paramount Pictures is producing the film, with a tenative release date of 2014.

Tupper Lake village Mayor Paul Maroun says the movie company needed a closed ski resort, and Big Tupper fit the bill. The resort has been closed because of financial problems.

80 cast and crew are expected to descend on the mountain. The shoot begins next week.
