No 4th of July fireworks or concert at the State Fairgrounds this year

Syracuse's new symphony is 'taking a rest' from the traditional 4th of July pops concert at the State Fairgrounds, because of another live music festival in the area on the holiday.

Jon Garland, with Symphoria, says they did not want to split the audience already expected to attend JazzFest at Jamesville Beach, where there will be fireworks.

Symphoria has announced part of its summertime concert series (no entry fee for any of these):

July 11(Thursday) Hamilton Village Green, 8pm

July 13 (Saturday) Fayetteville Beard Park, 8pm (Broadway & movie music)

July 19 (Saturday) LaFayette Carol Watson Greenhouse Summer Soiree 6pm event (String Trio at 8pm)

July 25 (Thursday) Skaneateles Allyn Arena 7pm (Sousa, Broadway & movie music)

July 27 (Saturday) Rome Ft Stanwix 8pm (Patriotic favorites and fireworks)

We will be posting a complete list of 4th of July fireworks on our website shortly.
