At Monday's Jamesville-Dewitt school board meeting, it was decided to not do anything just yet about the project to build a new turf field.
The group that's been fundraising for the last two years did raise enough money to cover the turf field, but money is still needed for the track and the lights. They recommended to the school board to complete the entire project at once instead of piece by piece.
The J-D school board says its next step is to determine how much money was already raised and how much it will cost to finish the entire project. Then a proposition will be put to a public vote. If it's approved, the board will accept the funds already raised.
That vote is expected to take place sometime in the fall.
