Even though it's not allowed, the Clinton Square fountain has been packed with people in the heat.
Swimmers we talked with today say it's a hot day and they just want to cool off. They tell us they don't see the harm.
Syracuse Parks Commissioner Pat Driscoll says it's not safe. Driscoll says the water is not chlorinated to a level that's safe for people to be swimming. He also says people can get their hands and feet stuck in the fountain grates.
Driscoll says the city pools won't be ready until late June, but the city has opened six sprayparks early. Those are:
