State officials are investigating how campus police at a western New York college handle cases of students who have been drinking or taking drugs.
The inspector general's probe at the State University of New York at Geneseo (jehn-uh-SEE'-oh) was launched after a 19-year-old student from Queens died of alcohol poisoning following three days of heavy drinking at an off-campus house.
SUNY-Geneseo says the state has requested information regarding the college's police alcohol and drug law enforcement records.
Geneseo village police officials say the investigation is looking into how the college reports crime statistics.
Student Arman Partamian died March 1st. Three men have been charged with criminally negligent homicide and hazing.
