Oncare helps parents of youth with mental health issues

Onondaga County's youth mental health outreach has a campaign to deal with stigmas

Onondaga County's mental health initiative for young people has a social media campaign underway, aimed at reducing stigmas for children.

Tashia Thomas, with Oncare, says the idea is to get the word out, that there is a place for parents to turn. The agency's Access Team is made up of professionals and parents who've 'been there' and can give realistic advice, as well as providing links to services.

The Access Team is at 463-1100, and the website also has a look at the video that's being distributed on dealing with stigma.
