One dead, two others critical after 2 early Saturday shootings

Syracuse Police outside 143 North Midler Ave, where one of two serious Saturday morning shootings happened.

A bar shooting, and a shooting at a home have kept Syracuse Police investigators busy early Saturday morning with a man dead, another critical after shootings at the first, and a woman in critical condition after the second incident.

Just before noon, investigators released the name of the Eastwood shooting victim: 21 year old Larae Williams was shot in the face and is now critical at University Hospital, after the 4:30am incident at 143 North Midler Ave, off James Street. Police are looking for a 21 year old man, and say this was not a random shooting.

Syracuse Police have also now identified the victim in the bar shooting as 20 year old Alex Xavier River Rosa, who was shot in the head and pronounced dead at University Hospital at 4:15am this morning. A second man, Airstedes Lopez, 28, was shot in the face at the same 2:05am incident at Calcano's Tavern, on North Geddes and Wilkinson Streets (just south of Genesee).

He was taken by private car to Crouse Hospital and was reported in critical condition. Syracuse Police say they have lots of leads in the shootings, with an hispanic man, the suspect.

Anyone with information in either incident is asked to call Syracuse Police at 442-5222.
