Two dozen firefighters responded to a fire at 98 Andes Avenue early Wednesday morning in snowy weather.
One man, estimated to be in his 50s, died as a result of the fire, according to Geneva Fire Chief Michael Combs. The victim was pulled from the fire by firefighters.
The man lived alone on the first floor in the house which was divided into apartments.
Two people who lived in the upstairs apartment called 911 around 6:00 a.m. and got out safely.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire. It appears most of the damage was on the side of the house.
