One of the twin sisters who stole thousands of dollars worth of items from a locker room was sentenced in Onondaga County Court Thursday morning.
21-year-old Camille Danciu was sentenced by Judge Thomas Miller to a drug treatment program after pleading guilty in January to burglary and grand larceny. Miller says if Danciu is able to complete the program and stay out of trouble she will not see any jail time, and will instead receive 3-6 years of parole. The Onondaga County District Attorney's Office says it initially sought 3-6 years in state prison.
Danciu and her twin sister Celine were arrested on December 13, 2013. They were accused of breaking into a girlsâ?? locker room at Fayetteville-Manlius High School on December 2 and taking cash, cell phones and clothing. The break-in led the school district to change its policy on school visitors.
Celine Danciuâ??s case has not yet been resolved. She is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
