If you are looking for a way to help the family of Jenna Hinman, you can start cooking. The family has been overwhelmed by support and now you can sign up to bring them a meal.
The 26-year-old remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Crouse Hospital, fighting for her life from a rare pregnancy cancer.
On this website, you can sign up to deliver a meal to her family at Crouse Hospital.
During the week there are between 8 and 15 friends and family at the hospital and on the weekend the number reaches about 20.
Local businesses are already donating meals to the dozen or so members of her family who have been spending time with Jenna around the clock at the hospital. Asti's Restaurant in Syracuse is donating Baked Ziti to the family on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On Thursday, we learned doctors are monitoring cancer cells in her twin girls. When the babies were initially tested, they had hundreds of cancer cells in their bodies that were passed along. The number of cancer cells have since dropped.
Hinman went into early labor at just 30 weeks, giving birth to the twins who remain in the NICU at Crouse. Doctors later learned Hinman had Choriocarcinoma, a rare pregnancy-related cancer that forms in the placenta. They put her in a medically induced coma. This week, doctors tried to start taking her out of the coma. They are still trying to wean her off the sedatives and hope to get her fully awake as she continues to receive chemotherapy.
