An Oneida County second grader makes her primetime debut on NBC's hit "30 Rock."
7-year-old Hayley Heffernan, from Lee Center, played a younger version of one of the main characters, Jenna Maroney.
"I had to lip synch this song called "Lets Get It On" by Marvin Gay," said Hayley. Of course, she doesn't know what the song means. Her mom says she doesn't quite grasp how big this role is either.
You can see Hayley twice in the show. The first time in a still picture with Jenna points out, and the second time Hayley is performing in a flashback scene.
Tonight, Hayley's face lit up when she watched that scene for the first time. Behind her was a crowded room of family and friends at Turning Stone Resort and Casino for the big viewing party. The red carpet was rolled out for Hayley Thursday night. But by now, she's sort of used to that star treatment.
It was hard for her to pick just one favorite memory from her day in New York City. "Filming it, and hair and make up and I had my very own dressing room," said Hayley.
All of that was followed by a whole day of filming in the big apple, and even though it was cut down in tonights episode, those few seconds on NBC add up to big opportunities. Now, the Rome Catholic School second grader is eligible for the screen actors guild.
Hayley beat about a dozen other girls for the role. And while this is her biggest gig to date it's not her first, she has starred in some local TV and print ads too. And the 7-year-old has her sights set high, her dream role...a Webkinz commercial because she tells us, the deal may include a free Webkinz.
