Oneida Shores Beach in Cicero is closed due to high bacteria levels, according to the Onondaga County Health Department.
Tests have shown that there are high levels of E. coli bacteria in the water.
The health department says swimming will not be allowed until bacteria levels are back to acceptable levels.
The health department says that the presence of increased E. coli in the water is an indication that the general bacterial action in the water is high.
E. coli can cause minor to severe symptoms, including diarrhea. Anyone with information should contact their health care provider.
