The daughter of Onondaga County's top prosecutor is facing charges of driving drunk.
22-year-old Sara Fitzpatrick, daughter of Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick, was arrested two days after Christmas.
It happened around 12:45 a.m. on December 27.
According to court documents obtained by CNYCentral, Liverpool police observed her driving 44 mph in a 30 mph zone along the 800 block of Oswego Street. The officer pulled her over along Onondaga Lake Parkway and conducted a sobriety test.
Court papers indicate Sara Fitzpatrick registered a blood alcohol content of .14, nearly two times the legal limit. In the documents, Fitzpatrick told police she had one drink at a bowling alley before getting behind the wheel.
The officer says she smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred. Sara Fitzpatrick was apparently cooperative during her arrest.
DA Fitzpatrick is not commenting on the arrest. We are told the case will be handled by a special prosecutor, which means a prosecutor in a neighboring county will be assigned to the case.
Sara Fitzpatrick is charged with DWI, having a BAC greater than .08 and speeding. She is scheduled to appear in Liverpool Village Court on January 14 at 4 p.m.
