Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputy killed in Hastings motorcycle crash

A Liverpool man is killed in a motorcycle crash that happened in the Town of Hastings Thursday night.

According to the Oswego County Sheriff's Office, around 8:45p.m. deputies were called to a reported crash on County Route 12.

Upon investigation, deputies say Anthony Gorgoni, 46, of Liverpool, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle southwest on County Route 12 before leaving the north side of the road, hitting a marker post and crashing into an embankment.

Gorgoni was a Custody Department Deputy for the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office for 19 years.

Deputies say Gorgoni was transported to University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
