Orange juice imports halted over chemical concerns

You may see fewer cartons of orange juice on the store shelves.

Several national news organizations, including the Bloomerg News Service, National Public Radio, and NBC News, are reporting the FDA is halting all foreign imports of orange juice. The juice is being tested for a banned fungicide.

The FDA says if there are even low levels of the fungicide, the juice will be destroyed or banned. Juice with levels below trace amounts may still be sold.

The fungicide is linked to higher risk of liver tumors in animals. It was found in orange juice from Brazil last month.
